The Philippine Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) will deploy Kongsberg Digital (KDI) simulation technology for research, operations and training to increase the knowledge and skills of its workforce.
Under the recently signed MoU, Kongsberg Digital will supply its suite of simulation systems to MARINA. The solutions provide effective and realistic training for students and maritime crew, developing vital skills, promoting the safety, profitability and sustainability of operations at sea.
This MoU aims to contribute to the achievement of the Maritime Industry Development Plan (MIDP) through the use of innovative and modern simulation technologies and the two partners will cooperate in several areas.
“With this MOU, MARINA and Kongsberg Digital will work together to adopt and leverage more advanced methodologies and tools in the maritime education and training segment, as well as train best practices. This will lead to a more skilled and agile maritime workforce ready to adapt to the ever-changing maritime landscape,” said VAdm Robert A.
