Here is a list of shipping companies taking action against Russia

Many of the biggest consumer names such as Samsung, McDonald’s, Zara and Apple have suspended operations in Russia in response to the invasion of Ukraine. Seatrade Maritime News has compiled a list of actions publicly taken by shipping and shipping-related businesses.

Container lines

Container lines were among the first companies to limit their operations in Russia and Ukraine after the invasion.

Maersk has issued several updates on its suspension of bookings to and from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, with some exceptions.

MSC has halted bookings to and from Russia.

CMA CGM issued several updates on its operations in the Black Sea region, suspending all bookings to and from Russia and suspending calls to Ukraine.

Ocean Network Express (ONE – K Line, MOL and NYK) has suspended bookings to and from Odessa, Novorossiysk and St. Petersburg.

Hapag Lloyd has suspended bookings to and from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.

Car transporters

Höegh Autoliners has discontinued services to Russia and Belarus

Wallenius Wilhemsen suspended operations in Russia and Belarus.

Shipbuilders, shipyards and equipment manufacturers

Damen has halted delivery of new builds in Russia.

Wartsila has suspended all deliveries to Russia and complies with all sanctions.

Classification societies

The membership of the Russian shipping register in IACS is withdrawn. DNV, Lloyd’s Register and ABS have all announced restrictions on Russian-related activities. Update: Class Societies Cut Ties With Russia

Energy Majors

BP and Equinor will exit their Russian investments.

Exxon will not make any new investments in Russia and is withdrawing from the huge Sakhalin-1 project.

Shell has announced its intention to withdraw from Russian oil and gas.

TotalEnergies said it supports Ukrainian authorities with fuel and will no longer provide capital for new projects in Russia.

Ship management

Many sailors from all over the world live in Russia and Ukraine. Ship management companies have generally avoided any suspension of operations in either country, instead calling for peace and offering support to affected seafarers and their families.

V.Group said it was complying with all financial and operational sanctions.
