Denmark announces financial aid for shipping companies affected by Brexit – SAFETY4SEA

The Danish Maritime Authority is opening a restructuring pool, to help Danish maritime companies that have lost income as a result of Brexit, to claim compensation of up to DKK 250,000. The swimming pool is open until November 15, 2022.

VSCompanies can claim up to 50% of a company’s loss of income, but a maximum of DKK 250,000 and a minimum of DKK 20,000 are paid out.

The pool is 100 million DKK, which should be split into two rounds:

  • One in fall 2022;
  • One in the summer of 2023.

The funds come from the EU.

The maritime restructuring pool was adopted by a large political majority in the Folketing on January 13, 2022, along with other pools which are to help Danish companies adapt to new markets and face the challenges posed by the exit from EU Britain.
