All on Deck: Tackling the Illegal Wildlife Trade in Singapore’s Maritime Industry | Events | Asia

WWF-Singapore and the National Parks Board would like to invite you to the webinar “All on Deck – Tackling Illegal Wildlife Trade in Singapore’s Maritime Industry”. During this virtual session, we will introduce the importance of combating the illegal wildlife trade and share best practices and resources that the shipping industry can use to identify suspicious shipments of wildlife products.

Our panelists, drawn from diverse stakeholder groups, will discuss the challenges and opportunities they have faced, as well as the whole industry approach needed to tackle the exploitation of the shipping industry at wildlife trafficking purposes.

Container shipping is the main method used by illegal actors around the world to smuggle large quantities of wildlife products such as elephant ivory, pangolin scales and timber. This is due to its cost effectiveness as a mode of transport, inherent supply chain vulnerabilities and low probability of detection.

How can government, business and industry leaders come together to detect, deter and stop illegal wildlife trade in maritime supply chains through and to Singapore? Join us at our virtual event to learn more – email [email protected] to register.
